Dr Laxminadh Sivaraju (1996) Performs rare operation

Dr Laxminadh Sivaraju (1996), working as neurosurgeon at Continental Hospitals has performed rare operation – removed a 5 cm tumor that was lodged in the spine of a 44-year-old male patient. The patient had complained of severe pain and burning sensation in the legs and was not able to walk or stand without support.

The tumor was extracted from its root, without causing any harm to the vital nerves around the spinal cord. “In case of complicated tumors like this, the expertise of the medical team and the availability of advanced mechanisms is critical for good outcomes,”

Within 48 hours of the surgery, the patient’s condition improved and his backache and pain in the leg subsided. The patient was discharged within three days after the surgery and is being remotely monitored, doctors said.
